Recipes

The recipes posted here are currently used glazes from our studio notebook. We don’t know the origin of every recipe. Some come to us from tradition, other studios, some are from textbooks, and some are from recently published sources; eg: the internet, and periodicals. Where known, sources are acknowledged in the glaze name or in a side note. All the glazes listed are fired to Cone 10 in reduction generally following the overview described under Kilns/Firing .

This page is intended for educational use only.

Each glaze recipe is followed by an analysis of its Seger Unity Formula, which indicates  Surface Properties based the relative amounts of Silica, Alumina, and flux.
